Why the Energy Label is very important (and now compulsory) for your online business

As from 1st January 2015 also webshops are required to display the EU Energy Label. Besides being a compulsory feature to integrate, why is it so important for your business as well? 

• The efficiency of electrical household appliances (and other goods such as light bulbs and cars) is rated by using a set of energy classes, ranging from letter A to G, A being the most efficient while G being the least efficient. 

• Thanks to the advancements in this fields, other rates A+, A++ and A+++ have been introduced and now they must be displayed also by online resellers.

• These guidelines apply to all products which have been launched from January 2015 on.

The label helps consumers to make a more accurate, responsible and comparable choice, by getting an idea on the quantity of energy they would consume and other details, like the water consumption and the noise it produces. 
This is why the EU Energy Label is one of the main characteristics that are taken into account by customers when buying household electrical appliances.
